A Call to our Professional Colleagues

Dear Professional Colleagues,

The 9th Alstrom Syndrome International Family Conference, Medical Clinic, and Scientific Symposium will be hosted at the Hotel Galvez (www.hotelgalvez.com) on May 2-6, 2019. The Galvez is a spectacular conference venue and situated directly across Seawall Boulevard from the Gulf of Mexico. You may wish not to leave family members at home!

The Scientific Symposium will be held offsite at the truly inspirational Houston Space Center (https://spacecenter.org/) on Thursday, May 2. The day will feature morning sessions, lunch, afternoon sessions, time to visit some of the attractions, and then dinner. The theme will be “A Time for Hope,” and we think everyone will benefit from hearing about both clinical interventions and cutting-edge research.  Those clinicians and researchers who wish to present should submit an abstract for consideration as soon as possible (please!) but no later than Friday, February 15, 2019. We also welcome posters for display at both the Symposium and in dedicated space at The Galvez.

IF you have any specific thoughts about clinical testing, interviews, a well-defined and manageable study that is not too time consuming, etc. please contact both Robin and Clair at the addresses you will find below, and we will consider their feasibility.

Also, as is our practice, whether you submit an abstract for the Symposium or not, we would deeply appreciate your willingness to present to the families on Friday and/or Saturday, serve on panels, participate in Curbside Consultations, and engage with our kids and their families.

Both online Conference Registration (https://www.alstrom.org/2019-asi-conference/registration/)  and Hotel Reservations (https://www.alstrom.org/2019-international-conference-hotel-reservations/) can be found at www.alstrom.org. There is a 10% discount available until January 31, 2019 on the Registration.

Please let us know as soon as practicable if you and/or any of your institutional colleagues either hope to or definitely plan to attend. See you in May!!

With warmest regards,
